This is a difficult time. The world is riddled with anxiety, fear, and a deadly disease that has radically interrupted the daily life of nearly everything and everyone. So, for the whole month of April, The Porkchop Express presents: THE QUARANTINE STREAM, a 30 day series designed to help shine a light on a film that is worthy of your time and might very well be the distraction you need. In an effort to keep it fresh, we will be alternating between the big three services (Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu) and trying to keep the choices as varied as possible.
For Day Twenty-Two, check out this tremendously fun heist flick. Now available on Netflix.
The World Is Yours (2018)
If you enjoy movies like Snatch (2000) or Ocean’s 11 (2001), then this charming, hyper-stylish French heist comedy is the movie you did not know you needed. Sure, you have seen some variation of this story a million times: a low-level criminal has a big dream of getting out of the life, but rarely is it executed with as much giddy fun, thanks to a sharp script and a handful of great performances. For those who shy away from subtitles, this is a perfect film to cut your teeth on; sometimes a great film challenges you, but others are just a damn good time. The World is Yours is firmly in the latter category.
