THE QUARANTINE STREAM (DAY TWENTY-FOUR)

Written By: François-Noël Vanasse

This is a difficult time. The world is riddled with anxiety, fear, and a deadly disease that has radically interrupted the daily life of nearly everything and everyone. So, for the whole month of April, The Porkchop Express presents: THE QUARANTINE STREAM, a 30 day series designed to help shine a light on a film that is worthy of your time and might very well be the distraction you need. In an effort to keep it fresh, we will be alternating between the big three services (Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu) and trying to keep the choices as varied as possible.

For Day Twenty-Four, have some laughs with this classic board-game inspired murder-mystery comedy. Now available on Amazon Prime.

Clue (1985)

When it comes to movies based on board games Clue is easily a masterpiece. Were it not for that qualifier it would still loom as one of the best comedies from the 1980s. A vicious story of blackmail and murder held together by brilliant comic performers like Tim Curry, Christopher Lloyd, Micheal McKean and Madeline Kahn. Special shout out to “hey that guy!” Martin Mull who was deployed brilliantly in A Futile and Stupid Gesture (2018). If you’ve gone all this long never bothering to watch Clue then you are in for a treat. If you have seen it, I bet there’s a lot in here you don’t remember. This is a jam-packed comedy from the days before improv. It’s an absolute delight.
